A contactless card uses short-range wireless technology to make secure payments between a contactless card and a contactless-enabled terminal. Pricing

Express Yourself: Upload your image, $15 for each card at issuance, replacement and renewal.

Expressions: Select an image from the gallery, $10 for each card at issuance, replacement and renewal.

Standard Card: Issued at no cost but cannot be ordered online. Replacement fee $10 if replaced before expiration date.

How it works

Look at your card

This indicator on your card means you can tap to pay anywhere you see the contactless symbol.

Look at the terminal

Look for the contactless symbol at contactless-enabled merchant terminals.

Tap your card

Tap or hold your contactless card near the contactless symbol on the checkout terminal.

You may be asked to enter your Personal Identification number (PIN) for debit card transactions. If a contactless terminal isn’t available, just insert or swipe your card.

Frequently Asked Questions About Your Contactless Card

Is tapping to pay secure?

Yes, absolutely. Your contactless card has the same secure encryption technology as your current contact only EMV chip card.

How long do I need to tap my card on the checkout terminal?

One to two seconds should do it. And don’t worry, even if you tap twice, you won’t be charged twice.

Can a purchase be made without my knowledge (for example: will the card reader activate if I walk past it)?

No. Your card must be extremely close to the reader – typically between two and four centimeters and the retailer must have first entered the amount for you to approve.

Can I use my card for everyday transactions or at non-chip terminals?

Yes! Your contactless card will continue to have contact functionality so they can still be inserted into an EMV reader and will also maintain the magnetic stripe on the back of the card for those merchants who have not upgraded to EMV.
